Text: Luke 2:4-7

THE BIRTH OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

1. Joseph

a. His native place was in Bethlehem (the birth place of King David).

b. But he lived in Nazareth (Luke 2:4).

c. The distance from Nazareth to Bethlehem was 144 km.
That was a very difficult journey to make in those days!

d. He had to make this trip:

i. To obey the decree issued by Caesar Augustus (Luke 2:1-3).

ii. To fulfil a prophecy that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2).

2. Mary

a. She was betrothed to Joseph.

b. She made the trip to Bethlehem with Joseph (Luke 2:5).

3. The Birth of the Baby Lord Jesus

a. The local inn was full (Luke 2:7).

b. There was only one possible “room” left.

c. This place was a humble stable .

d. Mary laid her new-born Son in a manger (Luke 2:7).
(A manger is nothing more than a trough where animals get their food.)

A GREAT PARADOX

1. One the one hand, an angel (Gabriel) was sent to announce the Virgin Birth to Mary (Luke 1:26-38).

2. Elizabeth prophesied and blessed Mary because of her faith (Luke 1:39-45).

3. On the other hand, Baby Jesus was born in a stable and wrapped up in swaddling cloths and laid to rest in a manger! (Luke 2:7)

1. 约瑟

b. 她和约瑟一同前往伯利恒 《路加福音 2:5》

3. 婴孩主耶稣的诞生

a. 当地的客房满了 《路加福音 2:7》

b. 只剩下一间“房间”

c. 这就是一间谦卑的马厩

d. 玛丽亚将她刚生下的儿子放在马槽里《路加福音2:7》

（马槽只不过是一个放动物的食物的盆）

极大的悖论

1. 在一方面，一位使者（加百列）被差向玛丽亚宣布处女受孕的信息《路加福音1:26-38》

2. 伊利莎白语言和称颂玛利亚的信 《路加福音1:39-45》

3. 在另一方面，婴孩耶稣在一间马厩出生，身体包着布，放在马槽里
