Text: Luke 10: 1-2

THE TRAINING OF MORE DISCIPLES

1. There were many who came to ask the Lord Jesus about following Him (Luke 9:57-62).

a. Some were not quite prepared to follow the Lord Jesus.
i. Their minds were not focused.
ii. Their hearts were not steady.
iii. Their faith was not strong.

2. But there were others who did follow Him.

a. Their identities were not made known to us.
b. But they were trained as Disciples too.

THE SENDING OUT OF 70 DISCIPLES

1. The appointment of 70 others (Luke 10:1a).

a. They must have been trained too.
b. They were now ready to be appointed and sent out.

2. Two by two (Luke 10:1b).

a. These Disciples were sent in pairs.
b. They can encourage and support each other along the way.

3. An advance Team

a. They were sent out.
i. To preach.
ii. To prepare for the Lord’s visit to the cities (Luke 10:1c).
b. The Lord Jesus would be there shortly after them.
c. This would not be too difficult for the newly appointed Disciples.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE DISCIPLES I

1. “The harvest”

“The harvest truly is great”

Luke 10:2a

a. The Lord Jesus compared the work to that of a harvest.
b. It will be hard work.
c. It is important work.
d. There was much work to be done.

2. “The labourers”

“The labourers are few”

Luke 10:2b

a. This was a sad reality.
b. Not many are prepared to be “labourers” in the harvest field.

3. Prayer

“Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.”

Luke 10:2c

a. Prayer must always be a part of ministry.
b. Praying to God the Father.
He is called “The Lord of the harvest”.
c. May the Lord hear this prayer and raise up more labourers for this vital work of God.

b.他们可以一路上互相鼓励和支持

3.一支先锋队

a.他们被派去

i.传道

ii.为主所要到的各城前做准备 《路加福音 10:1c》

b.主耶稣会在他们之后不久到那里

c.这对于新设立的门徒来说应该不会太难

给门徒们的指示I

1.“要收的庄稼”

“要收的庄稼多”

《路加福音10:2a》

a.主耶稣把工作比喻成收割庄稼

b.这是艰辛的工作

c.这是重要的工作

d.有很多工作要做

2.“做工的人”

“做工的人少”

《路加福音10:2b》

a.这是一个悲伤的现实

b.没有多少人愿意在收割地里当“做工的人”

3.祷告

“所以，你们当求庄稼的主打发工人出去收他的庄稼”

《路加福音10:2c》

a.祷告必须是事工常有的一部分

b.向天父祈祷

祂被称为“庄稼的主”

c.愿主垂听这个祷告，並兴起更多做工的人来从事上帝这项重要的工作
