Text: Genesis 6: 1-4
MEDITATION
Genesis 6: 1-4
1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
3 And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Man’s existence on the earth
a. Mankind continued to multiply.
b. The Lord’s blessing where He said, “Be fruitful and multiply” had not been withdrawn.
2. Marriage
a. People continued to be married.
b. The men chose to marry those they considered beautiful.
3. The presence of giants
a. There were people who had more imposing feature.
b. These were much larger and taller than the average person.
4. The term “sons of God”
a. These displayed more godliness in their life.
b. But they too were caught up with all that they saw around them.
5. Men of might and renown
a. There would always be people who would rise to great heights.
b. The danger was that they left God out of their lives.
6. God saw the deeper problem of the spread of sin
The best solution was to restrict the length of life or wickedness could spread even more widely.

1 当人在世上多起来，又生女儿的时候，
2 神的儿子们看见人的女子美貌，就随意挑选，娶来为妻。
3 耶和华说:“人既属乎血气，我的灵就不永远住在他里面，然而他的日子还可到一百二十年。”4那时候有伟人在地上，后来神的儿子们和人的女子们交合生子，那就是上古英武有名的人。
