MEDITATION
Genesis 50:22-26
22 So Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he and his father’s household. And Joseph lived one hundred and ten years.
23 Joseph saw Ephraim’s children to the third generation. The children of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were also brought up on Joseph’s knees.
24 And Joseph said to his brethren, “I am dying; but God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land to the land of which He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”
25 Then Joseph took an oath from the children of Israel, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.”
26 So Joseph died, being one hundred and ten years old; and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Life in Egypt
a. Joseph dwelt in Egypt.
b. He and his brothers dwelt in Egypt.
2. Lifespan of Joseph
a. He lived to 110 years.
b. He saw Ephraim’s children to the third generation.
c. He saw the grandchildren of Manasseh who sat on his knees.
3. Instructions of Joseph as he was dying
a. He followed what Jacob did.
b. He gave instructions to his brethren.
i. God would visit them one day.
ii. He would bring them back to the land of Canaan.
iii. When they leave Egypt, they are to bring his bones with them to Canaan.
4. The death of Joseph
a. He died in Egypt.
b. They embalmed him and put him in a coffin in Egypt.
c. Embalming was done only for people of significance.

22约瑟和他父亲的眷属都住在埃及。约瑟活了一百一十岁。
23约瑟得见以法莲第三代的子孙，玛拿西的孙子玛吉的儿子也养在约瑟的膝上。
24约瑟对他弟兄们说：“我要死了，但神必定看顾你们，领你们从这地上去，到他起誓所应许给亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各之地。”
25约瑟叫以色列的子孙起誓说：“神必定看顾你们，你们要把我的骸骨从这里搬上去。”26约瑟死了，正一百一十岁。人用香料将他熏了，把他收殓在棺材里，停在埃及。
