Text: Genesis 48: 8-11
MEDITATION
Genesis 48:8-11
8 Then Israel saw Joseph’s sons, and said, “Who are these?”
9 Joseph said to his father, “They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place.”
And he said, “Please bring them to me, and I will bless them.”
10 Now the eyes of Israel were dim with age, so that he could not see. Then Joseph brought them near him, and he kissed them and embraced them.
11 And Israel said to Joseph, “I had not thought to see your face; but in fact, God has also shown me your offspring!”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Noticing two young lads
a. Jacob was caught up with speaking to Joseph.
b. He did not notice the two grandchildren who had come to visit him.
c. Jacob asked who the children were.
2. Joseph’s response
a. They were his sons.
b. He acknowledged that God had given them to him.
3. Jacob (Israel)
a. Jacob immediately desired to pray for his grandchildren.
b. He would like to bless them.
4. Jacob’s eyesight
a. He was very old.
b. With age, he was virtually blind.
5.The grandchildren brought near
a. Jacob embraced and kissed them.
b. He had not even expected to see Joseph again.
c. But now he had even “seen” his grandchildren! There was obvious love and joy in the heart of Jacob!

8以色列看见约瑟的两个儿子，就说：“这是谁？”
9约瑟对他父亲说：“这是神在这里赐给我的儿子。”以色列说：“请你领他们到我跟前，我要给他们祝福。”
10以色列年纪老迈，眼睛昏花，不能看见。约瑟领他们到他跟前，他就和他们亲嘴，抱着他们。11以色列对约瑟说：“我想不到得见你的面，不料，神又使我得见你的儿子。”
