Text: Genesis 41: 37-41
MEDITATION
Genesis 41:37-41
37 So the advice was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants.
38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”
39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you.
40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.”
41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. A favourable and positive response
a. The advice of Joseph was well-received.
b. Pharaoh considered his advice as “good”.
c. All the servants of Pharaoh:
i. The magicians
ii. The wise men
iii. Others who were privileged to have been invited to this audience
d. His acknowledgment of Joseph:
i. He is a rare find.
ii. The Spirit of God was obviously in him to give him such wisdom and insight.
2. A royal acknowledgment
a. He acknowledged the God of whom Joseph spoke.
b. His wisdom and discernment obviously stood out.
3. A royal appointment
a. He will rule over Pharaoh’s house.
b. He will rule over all of Egypt.
c. He would be just below the Pharaoh in authority.

37法老和他一切臣仆都以这事为妙。
38法老对臣仆说：“像这样的人，有神的灵在他里头，我们岂能找得着呢？”
39法老对约瑟说：“神既将这事都指示你，可见没有人像你这样有聪明有智慧。
40你可以掌管我的家，我的民都必听从你的话，唯独在宝座上我比你大。”41法老又对约瑟说：“我派你治理埃及全地。”
