Text: Genesis 37: 9-11
MEDITATION
Genesis 37:9-11
9 Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.”
10 So he told it to his father and his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?”
11 And his brothers envied him, but his father kept the matter in mind.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Another dream of Joseph
a. A second dream came to Joseph.
b. This time round, Joseph also shared it with his father.
2. The contents of the dream
a. The sun, moon and eleven stars.
b. These bowed to Joseph.
3. The brothers
a. They did not have such dreams.
b. They envied Joseph for his dreams.
4. Jacob
a. He questioned Joseph about his dream.
b. He sought to interpret it.
i. The sun and moon would represent the parents.
ii. The eleven stars would represent the eleven brothers.
c. His doubt
i. Would the parents have to bow to Joseph? This seemed unlikely.
ii. Jacob however kept this dream in his mind. He did not dismiss it totally.

9 后来他又做了一梦，也告诉他的哥哥们说：“看哪，我又做了一梦，梦见太阳、月亮与十一个星向我下拜。”
10 约瑟将这梦告诉他父亲和他哥哥们，他父亲就责备他说：“你做的这是什么梦！难道我和你母亲、你弟兄果然要来俯伏在地，向你下拜吗？”11 他哥哥们都嫉妒他，他父亲却把这话存在心里。
