Text: Genesis 30: 41-43
MEDITATION
Genesis 30:41-43
41 And it came to pass, whenever the stronger livestock conceived, that Jacob placed the rods before the eyes of the livestock in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods.
42 But when the flocks were feeble, he did not put them in; so the feebler were Laban’s and the stronger Jacob’s.
43 Thus the man became exceedingly prosperous, and had large flocks, female and male servants, and camels and donkeys.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. The first step taken
a. To have more speckled lambs.
b. This was achieved because of God’s grace and mercy.
2. The second step taken
a. Distinguishing between the strong and the weak.
b. Jacob paid more attention to the speckled strong.
i. He made sure that they had plenty to drink.
ii. The first method of placing different plant cuttings was applied.
c. He separated the weak from the strong.
3. Jacob’s speckled flocks
a. They were more numerous.
b. They were also stronger.
4. Laban’s flocks
a. They did not fare so well.
b. His flocks were weaker.
THE GROWING WEALTH OF JACOB
1. He became “exceedingly prosperous”.
2. He had large flocks, camels and donkeys. He also acquired many male and female servants. His wealth must be attributed to the grace and mercy of the LORD.

《创世记 30:41-43》
41 到羊群肥壮配合的时候，雅各就把枝子插在水沟里，使羊对着枝子配合，
42 只是到羊瘦弱配合的时候就不插枝子。这样，瘦弱的就归拉班，肥壮的就归雅各。43 于是雅各极其发达，得了许多的羊群、仆婢、骆驼和驴。
