MEDITATION
Genesis 26:17-18
17 Then Isaac departed from there and pitched his tent in the Valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.
18 And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father, for the Philistines had stopped them up after the death of Abraham. He called them by the names which his father had called them.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE

a. The exact location is not clear.
b. The threat of the Philistines was still very real.
3. Digging of wells
a. This was necessary.
b. Even if Isaac did not do farming, he would still need lots of water
i. For his flocks.
ii. For his cattle.
iii. For his people (family and servants).
4. Finding the wells
a. The loyal servants of Abraham would remember the locations of those wells.
b. Though they were stopped up by the Philistines, they could be dug again.
c. Isaac called these wells after the names that Abraham assigned to them.
