Text: Genesis 22: 20-24
MEDITATION
Genesis 22:20-24
20 Now it came to pass after these things that it was told Abraham, saying, “Indeed Milcah also has borne children to your brother Nahor:
21 Huz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram,
22 Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.”
23 And Bethuel begot Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham’s brother.
24 His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore Tebah, Gaham, Thahash, and Maachah.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Family news
a. Abraham had family in Haran.
b. He had a brother called Nahor and a sister-in-law called Milcah.
2. The children of Nahor
a. Nahor had eight sons.
b. Huz, the firstborn.
c. Buz, Kemuel, Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph and Bethuel.
d. Bethuel was the last son.
e. He was the father of Rebekah.
3. Nahor also had a concubine, Reumah
a. She bore four children.
b. Their names were Tebah, Gaham, Thahash, and Maachah.
IN COMPARISON
1. Children
Nahor had twelve sons through his wife and concubine. Abraham had only Isaac from Sarah.
2. The blessing of God
Only Abraham had the promise of God’s blessing! That would count for much more.
