MEDITATION
Genesis 22:1-2
1 Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!”
And he said, “Here I am.”
2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. “Now it came to pass after these things”
a. Many things had transpired.
b. More than 30 years had passed.
c. Finally, Abraham had a son with Sarah.
2. The faith of Abraham
a. It was genuine.
b. But it was not consistent.
c. It was not very strong.
3. God tested Abraham
a. This was going to be a huge test.
b. God asked Abraham to go to the land of Moriah.
c. Isaac was to be offered up as a burnt offering to God.
4. Wherein is the test
a. A test of obedience.
b. A test of faith and trust in God.
c. A test of the emotions.
Would Abraham be able to obey the LORD in this matter?
