MEDITATION
Genesis 19:12-14
12 Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city—take them out of this place!
13 For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the LORD, and the LORD has sent us to destroy it.”
14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, “Get up, get out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city!” But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Angelic admonition
a. Lot was urged to take his family out of Sodom.
b. The destruction of Sodom was at hand.
2. Reasons for this judgment against Sodom
a. The outcry against the city had been growing.
b. The LORD had sent His angels to check out the city.
c. Their recent horrid experience had confirmed the decision to destroy the city.
3. Lot spoke urgently to his family members
a. There were “sons-in-law”.
b. There were other daughters besides the two he had offered to the men of Sodom.
c. He believed the word of warning given by the angels.
4. The response of the sons-in-law
They did not agree with Lot’s conclusion. They rejected Lot’s admonition. They were obviously spiritually unable to respond correctly.

13 我们要毁灭这地方，因为城内罪恶的声音在耶和华面前甚大，耶和华差我们来，要毁灭这地方。”14 罗得就出去，告诉娶了他女儿的女婿们说：“你们起来离开这地方，因为耶和华要毁灭这城。”他女婿们却以为他说的是戏言。
