Text: Exodus 8: 5-7
MEDITATION
Exodus 8:5-7
5 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.’”
6 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.
7 And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Instruction to be given to Aaron
a. The source of instruction would be from the LORD.
b. Moses would then speak to Aaron who would carry out the word from God.
2. Aaron was to symbolically stretch out his hand:
a. Over the streams.
b. Over the rivers.
c. Over the ponds.
3. Obedience of Aaron
a. He obeyed.
b. Frogs appeared in abundance as the LORD had forewarned.
c. Millions of frogs suddenly covered the whole land of Egypt.
4. The magicians of Egypt
a. They were supposed to be in contact with the deities worshipped.
i. In this case, the frog-goddess.
ii. The deity worshipped as the goddess of abundance was powerless.
b. They must have been astonished at the power of God displayed.
c. They had never seen such an abundance of frogs before.
d. Their response: They also conjured up frogs.
e. They were imitating the feat done by Aaron, through Moses’ word.
f. They were powerless to remove the plague of frogs!
g. The presence of frogs throughout the land of Egypt would become a nightmare to all the people, including the magicians!

5 耶和华晓谕摩西说：“你对亚伦说：‘把你的杖伸在江、河、池以上，使青蛙到埃及地上来。’”
6 亚伦便伸杖在埃及的诸水以上，青蛙就上来，遮满了埃及地。7 行法术的也用他们的邪术照样而行，叫青蛙上了埃及地。
