MEDITATION
Exodus 34:1-2
1 And the LORD said to Moses, “Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke.
2 So be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself to Me there on the top of the mountain.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Fresh instructions from the Lord God to Moses
a. Moses was instructed to cut two tablets of stone.
b. They were to be like the first two tablets which he broke.
i. When Moses came into the main camp he saw people worshipping the golden calf.
ii. He was so angry, he broke the two stone tablets in pieces.
2. The Lord’s grace
a. He would re-write His laws.
b. God showed:
i. Much grace and mercy.
ii. Great kindness and patience.
3. The immediate task
a. To cut the two stone tablets.
b. To climb up the mountain of God.
c. To begin the ascent early in the morning.
d. To present himself to the Lord God.
e. This was like “a second chance”.
