Text: Exodus 28: 36-39
MEDITATION
Exodus 28:36-39
36 “You shall also make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engraving of a signet: HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
37 And you shall put it on a blue cord, that it may be on the turban; it shall be on the front of the turban.
38 So it shall be on Aaron’s forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things which the children of Israel hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall always be on his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.
39 “You shall skilfully weave the tunic of fine linen thread, you shall make the turban of fine linen, and you shall make the sash of woven work.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. The turban
a. This is the headgear of the high priest.
b. The most important part is the special plate with the words “Holiness to the LORD”.
i. The Lord is holy.
ii. The Most Holy Place must be reverentially regarded.
iii. Worship is holy.
iv. The high priest must be holy too!
2. Bearing the iniquity of the holy things
a. All things offered to God were meant to be holy.
b. But the reality is that man is tainted by iniquity.
i. The iniquity may be hidden.
ii. It may not be over a sinful deed.
c. Aaron’s part is to present all the holy offerings to God conscious of the fact that sin exists.
d. His part was to present all the offerings to God and to seek mercy and grace for the holy things to be accepted.
3. There were actually four garments of the high priest to be worn
a. The external breastplate.
b. The ephod is underneath the breastplate of judgment.
c. The ephod robe is underneath the ephod.
d. The tunic is the innermost garment, it is worn under the ephod robe.
4. The sash
a. The sash was like a girdle.
b. It was to be woven carefully.
c. It would add to “the glory and the beauty” of the high priest and his ministry.

36“你要用精金做一面牌，在上面按刻图书之法刻着：归耶和华为圣。
37要用一条蓝细带子将牌系在冠冕的前面。
38这牌必在亚伦的额上，亚伦要担当干犯圣物条例的罪孽，这圣物是以色列人在一切的圣礼物上所分别为圣的。这牌要常在他的额上，使他们可以在耶和华面前蒙悦纳。39要用杂色细麻线织内袍，用细麻布做冠冕，又用绣花的手工做腰带。
