MEDITATION

Exodus 23:4-5

4 “If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again.
5 If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying under its burden, and you would refrain from helping it, you shall surely help him with it.

MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE

1. An enemy

a. He may be defined as one who is:
i. At odds
ii. Hostile
iii. Unfriendly
iv. May even be wicked
b. How should one:
i. Relate
ii. Respond

2. The enemy’s domestic animals

a. Ox (vital work animal)
b. Donkey (another important work animal)

3. These animals may go astray

4. An appropriate response

a. To bring the animals back to the enemy
b. This is the right thing to do for any one
c. Even if the enemy may not be friendly

5. An overladen donkey

a. The enemy may be cruel to his work animals
b. The poor donkey is lying down under the burdens placed on it
c. It may have carried the burdens for a while
But it has collapsed under the sheer weight of the things piled on it

6. Hesitant about helping

a. One may feel hesitant
b. A spontaneous desire to help may not be there

7. Deciding to help

a. This is the appropriate action to take
b. This is something the Lord has commanded
c. This word is to be heeded and complied with fully

4“若遇见你仇敌的牛或驴失迷了路,总要牵回来交给他。

5若看见恨你人的驴压卧在重驮之下,不可走开,务要和驴主一同抬开重驮。

在生活里有意义地应用

1.仇敌

a.他可以被定义为一位:
i.不和的
ii.怀敌意的
iii.不友善的
iv.也即可能是邪恶的
b.我们应该怎么去:
i.沟通
ii.回应

2.仇敌的家畜

a.牛(至关重要的劳作动物)
b.驴(另一种重要的劳作动物)

3.这些动物可能会迷失了路

4.一个适当的回应

a.把动物牵回去给仇敌
b.这是对任何人都应该做的正确事情
c.即使那仇敌可能不太友善

5.一匹过度驮重的驴

a.仇敌可能虐待他的劳作动物
b.可怜的驴压臥在重驮之下
c.它可能已经驮重好一会儿了
但是,它背上负荷的巨大重量已经把它压垮了

6.犹豫是否要帮忙

a.人们可能会感到犹豫
b.可能没有自发的欲望去帮忙

7.决定要帮忙
