Text: Exodus 19: 4-6
MEDITATION
Exodus 19:4-6
4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.
5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.
6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. God’s deliverance remembered
a. They are to remember what He did to the Egyptians. He punished them with 10 plagues.
b. A special imagery used.
i. God bore the children of Israel out on “eagles’ wings”.
ii. Like a mighty eagle He came from above and took them out.
iii. He brought them to Himself.
2. God’s purpose disclosed
a. He will give them a covenant.
b. If they were to obey Him and keep His covenant.
c. The following would result:
i. Israel would be a special treasure to God above all others.
ii. It would become a kingdom of priests.
iii. It would be a holy nation.
3. These were the words of God
a. These are promises from God.
b. They are to be believed.
c. They are to be practised.

4我向埃及人所行的事，你们都看见了；且看见我如鹰将你们背在翅膀上，带来归我。
5如今你们若实在听从我的话，遵守我的约，就要在万民中做属我的子民，因为全地都是我的。6你们要归我做祭司的国度，为圣洁的国民。这些话你要告诉以色列人。”
