Text: Exodus 16: 1-3
MEDITATION
Exodus 16:1-3
1 And they journeyed from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came to the Wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they departed from the land of Egypt.
2 Then the whole congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.
3 And the children of Israel said to them, “Oh, that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Time had passed quietly
a. The children of Israel had been out of Egypt for more than a month.
b. It was now the 15th day of the 2nd Month.
2. The Wilderness of Sin
a. The word “Sin” is just a word.
b. It does not describe iniquity or transgression.
c. They had left the oasis of Elim and moving towards Mt. Sinai.
3. Another Complain
a. The “whole congregation of Israel” complained against Moses and Aaron.
b. They had complained before:
i. When Pharaoh imposed harsher demands.
ii. At the seashore of the Red Sea.
iii. At Marah.
c. The complaint this time:
i. They remembered the pots of meat in Egypt.
ii. They remembered the bread they had there.
iii. They spoke as if they preferred to have been struck dead in Egypt.
iv. They were complaining about their hunger in the wilderness.
d. The children of Israel had forgotten:
i. Their cries to God for deliverance.
ii. Their hardship as slaves in Egypt.
iii. The power of God in the plagues inflicted on Egypt.
iv. The miraculous crossing of the Red Sea.

《出埃及记 16:1-3》
1以色列全会众从以琳起行，在出埃及后第二个月十五日，到了以琳和西奈中间汛的旷野。
2以色列全会众在旷野向摩西、亚伦发怨言，3说：“巴不得我们早死在埃及地耶和华的手下，那时我们坐在肉锅旁边，吃得饱足。你们将我们领出来，到这旷野，是要叫这全会众都饿死啊！”
