"I will show them wonders"

Text: Micah 7:15

GOD’S GRACIOUS RESPONSE

Micah’s prayer was not in vain! God responded to this prayer graciously.

“As in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt,
I will show them wonders.”
Micah 7:15

1. “As in the days”

a) God had revealed His power in the land of Egypt.
b) He kept the children of Israel safe from all the 10 plagues that were sent to punish Egypt.

2. “When you came out of the land of Egypt”

a) God was there to lead His people out of Egypt.
i) The mighty army of Egypt was soundly defeated at the Red Sea (Exodus 14).
ii) The surviving Egyptians cried out in terror, recognizing the power of God (Exodus 14:25).
b) His presence was clear and distinct.
i) His great work was seen by the people (Exodus 14:30).
ii) He led by fire in the night (Deuteronomy 1:33).
iii) He led in a cloud in the day time (Deuteronomy 1:33).

3. “I will show them wonders”

The following were the wonders God had shown ancient Israel:

a) He made bitter water sweet (Exodus 15).
b) He provided Manna (Exodus 16).
c) He provided water from a Rock (Exodus 17).
d) He defeated the Amalekites (Exodus 17).
e) He had spoken to His people audibly (Exodus 19-20).

WHAT LIES BEHIND THE WONDERS OF GOD

Behind the mighty wonders of God are the following glorious truths:

1. God’s covenant-promise given to His people (Exodus 6:1-8; Deuteronomy 5).

2. His Presence (Exodus 33:14).

3. His glorious Divine attributes of mercy and grace (Exodus 34:5-6).

4. His blessings (Deuteronomy 2:7; Psalm 103).

5. His protection (Psalm 121).

His people would need to respond to the LORD God with faith and obedience.
