"Behold, the day is coming"

Text: Malachi 4:1

THE DAY OF JUDGMENT

In the prophetic literature of the Old Testament, the phrase, “The day of the LORD” was used frequently. It represented a special time when God would judge the nation. Malachi also found himself giving warning to the sinful and unrepentant proud, of the day of judgment.

“‘For behold, the day is coming,
Burning like an oven,
And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble.
And the day which is coming shall burn them up,’
Says the LORD of hosts,
‘That will leave them neither root nor branch.'”
