"Then I will give them one heart and one way"

Text: Jeremiah 32:39

GOD’S ANSWER TO JEREMIAH V

The LORD revealed to Jeremiah what He would do for Israel when the nation has returned home to Israel. These promises are nothing short of being astonishing and outstanding!

“Then I will give them one heart and one way,
that they may fear Me forever,
for the good of them and their children after them.
And I will make an everlasting covenant with them,
that I will not turn away from doing them good;
but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.
Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good,
and I will assuredly plant them in this land,
with all My heart and with all My soul.”
Jeremiah 32:39-41

1. “Then I will give them one heart and one way,
that they may fear Me forever,
for the good of them and their children after them”

a) God’s special gift:

i) One heart

ii) One way

iii) This was a major problem in the past. The nation was so divided in heart.
They pursued every other way, except God’s way!

b) The result if they had one heart and one way:

i) They would fear the LORD forever.

ii) This would result in God’s blessing of goodness that would be on the people and their offspring.

2. “And I will make an everlasting covenant with them,
that I will not turn away from doing them good;
but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me”

a) An everlasting covenant would be given.

b) This is a reference to the new covenant (Jeremiah 31:31).

c) God will not turn away from doing good to them.

d) He will put His fear in them, and they will not depart from their faith in God.

3. “Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good,
and I will assuredly plant them in this land,
with all My heart and with all My soul”

a) God will then rejoice over them to do them good.

b) He will plant the people in their homeland.

c) The LORD will do this for them with all His heart and soul.
