"Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah"

Text: Jeremiah 11:6

AN IMPORTANT TASK

Jeremiah was given a special and specific task. This was a message that was to be preached in the cities of Jerusalem.

“Then the LORD said to me,
‘Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: ‘Hear the words of this covenant and do them.
For I earnestly exhorted your fathers
in the day I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, until this day,
rising early and exhorting, saying, ‘Obey My voice.’
Yet they did not obey or incline their ear,
but everyone followed the dictates of his evil heart;
therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant,
which I commanded them to do, but which they have not done.””
Jeremiah 11:6-8

ii) They did not incline their ear (to listen and learn).
iii) They followed the dictates of their evil heart.
b) The results:
i) God will bring the judgment (curses) of the Covenant (Deuteronomy 27-28).
ii) For failure to heed the commands that God had given to them.
iii) They will be judged by the words of the covenant given to them.
