And out of Egypt I called My son.”

ii) The four hundred years in Egypt saw Israel becoming a small nation.

ii) Declaration of God’s relationship with Israel as His people
iii) Protection
iv) Provision
v) Presence manifested

3. “Out of Egypt I called My son”

a) God called Israel “My people” (Exodus 3:7, 10).
b) He also called Israel:

4. A proverbial statement

a) Israel’s deliverance from Egypt was a foreshadowing of the time when Baby Jesus went to Egypt to escape from the wrath of Herod (Matthew 2:15).
b) Israel’s relationship mirrored the greater relationship God had with His Son Jesus Christ.
