Exodus
Day
Day 34

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

Text: Exodus 4 : 13-14

A RELUCTANT SERVANT

Moses had run out of objections! Every query he raised up was met with deep and profound answers! Deep down, Moses knew that God was right! He couldn’t gainsay the Lord! But he was nevertheless feeling most reluctant about obeying God!

“But he said, ‘O my Lord, please send
by the hand of whomever else You may send.”
EXODUS 4:13

This was just a polite way of begging off! Moses still had qualms about many things:-

1. Meeting up with Pharaoh

2. Leading the children out of Egypt

3. Convincing the children of Israel that he was sent by the Lord

4. The problem of eloquence

But God had given him assuring answers to all these doubts! Surely, no one could ask for more!

LEARNING ANOTHER IMPORTANT LESSON ABOUT GOD

God had been most patient with Moses all this while. He understood the fears that Moses felt. Those were valid and normal concerns! But He had given to Moses all that he could possibly need.

1. His Presence

2. His Promises

3. His plans

4. His power

Enough! God had to speak sternly to Moses now!

“So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses,
and He said, ‘Is not Aaron the Levite your brother?
I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming
out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.”
EXODUS 4:14

Moses was seeing another aspect of God! He must learn to fear the Lord!
