UNDERSTANDING THE MINISTRY OF ANGELS

Mighty are the angels of the Lord! Angels have ranks! They may be regarded as spiritual princes. The Book of Daniel recorded an incident when the Archangel Michael came to aid one of the angels of God sent to give Daniel understanding of God’s prophetic visions.

“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one
days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days…”
DANIEL 10:13-14

1. Angels are powerful beings compared to human-kind

They are in the Presence of God and attend to Him! They are sent to give understanding to those who seek wisdom from God’s word!

2. Angels have limited power

The angel who was sent to minister to Daniel had so much power and no more. He was hindered by other powerful beings (demonic) from ministering to Daniel.

3. Help from the Archangel Michael

Superior angelic beings may be sent by God to battle powerful demons in the spiritual realm!

The spiritual realm is difficult to fully comprehend. Our finite mind cannot fully grasp the idea of spiritual battle between powerful angelic beings. We can only humbly bow our heads and give thanks to God for giving angels to minister to us (Cf. Hebrews 1:14). However, to none of the angels, did God ever speak in the manner in which He was introduced to Moses!

LIKE NO OTHER ANGEL

The description given to the Angel of the LORD, in the context of the Book of Exodus, was truly unique. This makes us appreciate that He is more than just one of the created angels of God. One unique statement God made concerning the Angel of the LORD may be highlighted to prove the point of identifying Him as Divine!

“He will not pardon your transgressions”! (Cf. Exodus 23:21c) What a statement! Who but God could forgive sins! No angel has ever been recorded or described as one who could forgive transgressions!

WAS THE LORD JESUS RESTRICTED BY TIME AND SPACE?

Yes, the Lord Jesus was highly featured in the New Testament period! But does that mean He did nothing at all in Old Testament times? Absolutely not!
