THE LAST MAJOR SUBJECT

Paul dealt with a number of major subjects in his epistle to the Ephesians. Let us take time to review briefly what he has written:-

A. Doctrines

1. The Blessings God has bestowed on all believers (Ephesians 1)

2. The Salvation Plan that God has revealed and effected (Ephesians 2)

3. The Profound doctrine of the Church (Ephesians 3)

4. The Glorious Provision of the Lord for the Church (Ephesians 4)

5. The Great Relationship between Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5)

6. The Great Spiritual Battle the Church is engaged in (Ephesians 6)

 
B. Application of Doctrines to Daily Life (Exhortations)

1. Two prayers were offered by the Apostle Paul (Ephesians 1, 3)

2. Deep and sound admonition given (Ephesians 1-6)

a) To live in great anticipation of God answering prayer and to live a life that is wonderfully enlightened (Ephesians 1:15-19).
b) To display, in our life, God’s salvation and His workmanship (Ephesians 2:1-10).
c) To appreciate what it means to be included as part of God’s family (Ephesians 2:17-22).
d) To keep praying and seeking to grow in faith and in knowledge (Ephesians 3:14-21).
e) To always walk worthy of our calling from God (Ephesians 4:1-2).
f) To guard and to promote Oneness in the Church (Ephesians 4:3-6).
g) To promote growth and strength in the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:7-16).
h) To practise faith in the context of the Christian family (Ephesians 5-6).
