Ephesians

Day 174

"To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."

Text: Ephesians 3:19

FILLED WITH ALL THE FULNESS OF GOD

This is a truly profound thought. How does one actually become filled with all the fullness of God? Let us attempt to construct a series of thoughts that could help us comprehend the idea of being filled with all the fullness of God.

1. Salvation

We have to begin here. In salvation, we experience the following:-

a) Forgiveness of all our sins
b) Reconciliation to God

2. Ramifications of our salvation

a) We receive wonderful blessings (Ephesians 1:3-14)
b) We become heirs of God (Ephesians 3:6-12)
c) We become part of the Body of Christ (Ephesians 2:19-22)

3. A special work of God through the Holy Spirit

a) The Spirit of God indwells us (Ephesians 1:13-14)
b) We have access to God through the Spirit (Ephesians 2:18)
c) The Spirit of God illumines our understanding (Ephesians 1:17-18; 3:5-7)

THE WORK OF TRANSFORMATION

The goal of the transforming work of the Spirit of God is “transformation”. The following text describes this special work of God.

But we all, with unveiled face,
beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image
from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 CORINTHIANS 3:18

1. We are being transformed from glory to glory.

2. The image of fullness is that of Christ Jesus Himself.

We have a truly profound intercessory prayer indeed!
