2 Corinthians
"The Spirit as a guarantee."
Text: 2 Corinthians 5:5
OUR IMMORTAL GOD
How wonderful it is to believe in an immortal God! He has made plans for all who believe in Him to enjoy immortal life!
“Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God,
who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.”
2 Corinthians 5:5
1. “Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God”
a) How has God prepared us?
i) Through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
ii) He has to reconcile us to God first.
iii) He then regenerates us and we now may say “we are born again”.
b) The suffering and death of Christ has important lessons for us to learn
i) We should not be afraid of suffering.
ii) We should not be afraid of death.
iii) God raised up Christ Jesus with great power and glory.
iv) He is the firstfruits of the resurrection.
v) We will also be raised from the dead.
c) God Himself will work this out
i) In His time.
ii) With great power.
iii) He has prepared all things.
2. “Who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee”
a) God knows all about
i) Our doubts.
ii) Our fears.
b) In answer He has given us the Holy Spirit.
i) As a seal that we belong to Him (Ephesians 1:13).
ii) As a guarantee that what He has promised, He will fulfil (Ephesians 1:14).
THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
a) How has God prepared us?

THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
He indwells every true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ! He is God’s Divine Seal and Guarantee!
THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
He works in every believer. His ministry in the life of every child of God is indispensable (Romans 8). Thank God for the presence and the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our life!
