1. Confessing Christ

a) Therefore whoever confesses Me before men                           Matthew 10:32a
b) I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven           Matthew 10:32b

2. Denying Christ

a) But whoever denies Me before men                                              Matthew 10:33a
b) Him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven      Matthew 10:33b

3. A Sword (A deeper truth)

I did not come to bring peace but a sword                                      Matthew 10:34
a) A man against his father                                                                   Matthew 10:35
b) A daughter against her mother                                                      Matthew 10:35
c) A man’s enemies will be those of his own household            Matthew 10:36

4. Not worthy of Me

a) He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me                       Matthew 10:37a
b) He who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me                        Matthew 10:37b
c) He who does not take up his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of me      Matthew 10:38

5. Life (A paradox)

a) He who finds his life will lose it                                   Matthew 10:39
b) He who loses his life for My sake will find it          Matthew 10:39

6. Good Reception

a) Receiving the disciples of Christ
i) He who receives you
ii) Receives Me
iii) Receives Him who sent Me                                  Matthew 10:40
b) Receiving a prophet                                           Matthew 10:41a
i) As a prophet
ii) A prophet’s reward
c) Receiving a righteous man                              Matthew 10:41b
i) As a righteous man
ii) A righteous man’s reward
d) Kindness to a little one                                     Matthew 10:42
i) A cup of cold water
ii) He shall by no means lose his reward
