Important Religious Feasts to be Kept

IMPORTANT RELIGIOUS FEASTS TO BE KEPT

1. The Feast of the Unleavened Bread   (Exodus 34:18)

a) This is to be kept for seven days
b) Only unleavened bread is to be eaten
c) This Feast is to be kept in the month of Abib
d) In the month of Abib Israel came out of Egypt

2. The Sabbath

a) Six days of work
b) One day of rest
c) In plowing time and in harvest time   (Exodus 34:21)

3. The Feast of Weeks (Pentecost)/ Feast of Ingathering

a) Firstfruit of the wheat
b) At the year’s end   (Exodus 34:24)

4. The Feast of the Passover

a) Food cannot be left over
b) No leaven to be offered   (Exodus 34:25)

OTHER IMPORTANT COMMANDMENTS

1. The firstborn

a) All firstborn (male)
b) They belong to the Lord

2. Human

a) All are to be redeemed
b) Symbolic remembrance of the time when God spared the firstborn (Egypt)

3. Animals

a) The firstborn of animals must be killed
b) Symbolic significance   (Exodus 34:20)

4. Bringing an offering

a) None shall appear before God empty-handed
b) The Lord must be honoured   (Exodus 34:20)

1. Specific commandment of the Lord

2. What He has said must be written down

a) According to the tenor of God’s words
b) The Book of the Covenant must capture the essence of what God said

3. Commandments of God were written down   (Exodus 34:27-28)
