THE MESSIANIC PROPHET

1. Point of Comparison

He will be like Moses   (Deuteronomy 18:15)
a) Like me
b) From your brethren   (Deuteronomy 18:15)

2. According to all you desired of the LORD

a) Let me not hear the voice of the LORD my God   (Deuteronomy 18:16)
b) Let me not see this great fire, lest I die   (Deuteronomy 18:16)

3. God’s promise

a) To raise up such a Prophet   (Deuteronomy 18:18)
b) I will put My words in His mouth   (Deuteronomy 18:18)
c) He shall to them all that I command Him   (Deuteronomy 18:18)

4. Those who will not hear

a) There will be those who will not hear
b) The Lord will hold them accountable   (Deuteronomy 18:19)

5. The presumptuous prophet

a) He presumes to speak in the Lord’s name   (Deuteronomy 18:20)
b) The word that God did not command
c) In the name of other gods

6. Verification of the prophetic word
